PODCASTS FOR ORAL SUCCESS:

GIVING VOICE TO STUDENT LEARNING

COURSE INFORMATION

This training will introduce podcasting as a valuable and transversal tool to improve oral skills in the classroom. Podcasts and web radios are becoming more popular so it´s no surprise that audio narratives can help educators to strengthen oral communication.

Teachers will learn how to create, record, and edit podcasts, and discover how podcasts can be used to develop students’ oral communication skills, creativity, and critical thinking. The course will focus on leveraging podcasts to improve speaking, listening, and presentation skills, fostering self-expression, and enhancing student engagement.

Through hands-on practice and real-world examples, teachers will gain confidence in integrating podcasting into their teaching methods, while exploring ways to make learning fun, dynamic, and collaborative.

“Podcasts for Oral Success: Giving Voice to Student Learning” is aimed for teachers and school staff from pre-school level to primary, secondary, vocational, adult and special needs education, staff of non-government organizations, government and policy makers and company staff. Non-native English trainers expecting participants to have at least B1 level of English proficiency.

METHODOLOGY

The approach followed is both practical and engaging, giving teachers the tools they need to incorporate podcasting into their classrooms while also developing oral skills. Since podcasting involves creativity, collaboration, and technology, the methodology should be hands-on, student-centered, and reflective.

Troughout the training, the teachers will have interactive workshops to work on creating their own podcasts starting with simple tasks like scripting and recording short segments. This learning-by-doing approach ensures they understand the technical aspects and creative processes.

The focus will be on experimenting with various podcast formats such as solo recordings, interviews, group discussions, and storytelling to expose teachers to a variety of formats they can later adapt for their students.

Our experienced trainers will support and stimulate the networking and cooperation among participants. At the end of the course, the company will provide the participants an attendance certificate including the detailed information about the course, e.g., title, programmed and schedule. In addition, a Europass Mobility Certificate can be added on request.
